Not bad for a months work. I am giving myself a B+ on this one

For you 2001 purests; you may note my significant error: I was off by 1/2 inch when I was shaping the engine shroud. The side thrusters should go around the upper hull not on each side of the engine shroud. By time time I discovered my mistake it too late to change. Because I was so pleased with the shape...I left it.

Next step? Build a stand!

Work so far. Completed the shroud around the engines. Next final sanding and urthane coats.

Despite my 25 coats of urathane some wood grain shows through, I do not feel it detracts from the model.

I am trying to find some synthetic material called "model plank" a wood like material with no grain for future projects.
